June 2026 · qualification totals
A Level Maths grade boundaries
A Level Maths grade boundaries for June 2026, copied from the exam boards' own files. The rows below are qualification totals. They are not predictions, and they are not a ranking of which paper was harder.
Read from the PDFs on 1 October 2026. Earlier series are not retyped here.
Mathematics
| Qualification | Max | A* | A | B | C | D | E |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Edexcel 9MA0 | 300 | 254 | 210 | 173 | 136 | 100 | 64 |
| AQA 7357 | 300 | 260 | 219 | 182 | 145 | 108 | 72 |
| OCR H240 | 300 | 250 | 208 | 172 | 136 | 100 | 65 |
| OCR MEI H640 | 275 | 223 | 187 | 155 | 123 | 92 | 61 |
H640's maximum is 275 because the comprehension paper is 75 marks. The other three mathematics qualifications are out of 300. Do not turn these marks into percentages and compare them as if the papers were the same.
How to read the two tables
Boards publish two kinds of row. The qualification row is the one that decides the grade: total marks across the papers, and the mark needed for A* down to E. The component rows are notional. Use them to see which paper sat below the rest of your script. Do not use a notional A on Paper 1 to decide that the certificate is an A.
For June 2026, AQA's notional component boundaries on 7357 were 86/71/58/46/34/22 on Paper 1, 86/72/59/46/34/22 on Paper 2, and 88/76/64/52/40/28 on Paper 3, each out of 100. Those are illustrative. The subject row, 260 for A*, is the one that counted.
Further Mathematics routes
Further Mathematics does not have a single boundary. Edexcel, AQA and both OCR specifications publish a row for each allowed combination of options. Pick the row that matches the papers on your entry, then open the board file if anything has moved since results day.

| 3D + 4D Decision Mathematics 1 and 2 | 300 | 262 | 236 | 199 | 162 | 125 | 89 |
Each row is one allowed pair of optional papers, plus Core Pure 1 and 2. Option letters are from the Pearson Further Mathematics specification.
| Qualification | Max | A* | A | B | C | D | E |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 7367DS | 300 | 240 | 203 | 169 | 135 | 101 | 67 |
| 7367MD | 300 | 239 | 202 | 168 | 135 | 102 | 69 |
| 7367SM | 300 | 236 | 199 | 165 | 132 | 99 | 66 |
The June 2026 file prints 7367DS as FURTHER MATHS ADV OPTION DS, 7367MD as OPTION MD, and 7367SM as OPTION SM. It does not spell those letters out. The specification lists three Paper 3 pairings — Discrete and Statistics, Statistics and Mechanics, Mechanics and Discrete — and does not attach these two-letter codes to them. Use the code on your own results information.

| Y540 Y541 Y544 Y545 Discrete + Additional Pure | 300 | 238 | 203 | 170 | 137 | 105 | 73 |
Y540 and Y541 are compulsory. The row is the best-two-option combination OCR publishes. Candidates may sit extra options; OCR uses the combination that gives the best grade.

Older series, and what to do if you are close
This page does not reconstruct 2018–2025 from memory. The archives are:
- Pearson grade boundaries, including the separate International A Level file. Do not mix that file with 9MA0.
- AQA grade boundaries
- OCR grade boundaries
- GOV.UK: qualification results, summer 2026
If you are a few marks short, look at the notional component row to see which paper dragged the total down, then use your centre's post-results services. A review of marking can move a mark. It does not make a forecast official.

Questions people ask
- When were these A Level Maths grade boundaries released?
- Summer 2026 level 3 results were issued on 13 August 2026. AQA's A-level grade-boundary file for June 2026 is marked published that day. Later reviews of marking can change a published boundary, so the board file is the current version.
- Does each paper have its own grade boundary?
- The grade is set on the qualification total. Component boundaries are notional. AQA says they are for illustrative purposes only. OCR says they do not automatically add up to the qualification grade.
- Can I tell which board is easier from these numbers?
- No. Each board sets boundaries against its own papers and its own entry. A lower mark for an A is not evidence of an easier exam. H640 is also out of 275, not 300.
- Can next year's boundaries be predicted from this table?
- No. Any forecast you see elsewhere is not an exam-board figure. This page only prints marks that appear in the June 2026 files.
