Further Mathematics

A Level Further Maths past papers

A Level Further Maths past papers belong to a second qualification. They are not a harder paper of A Level Maths. Each board builds the course differently, so the first job is to match the name your school uses to the code on the paper. Each board page lists the question paper, mark scheme and examiner report for the series that board has published.

Four specifications, four shapes
BoardCodeHow it is examined
Edexcel9FM0Core Pure 1 and 2, plus two optional papers. 1 hour 30 minutes and 75 marks each.
AQA7367Two compulsory pure papers and one paper with two option booklets. 2 hours and 100 marks each.
OCR AH245Pure Core Y540 and Y541, plus two options from Y542–Y545. Papers are filed under the Y code, not H245/01.
OCR MEIH645Units Y420–Y436. The June 2026 grade-boundary file prints the allowed routes.

Do the compulsory pure papers first, timed, and mark them the same day. Then one option at a time. Mixing two options in one sitting tells you little about either. June 2026 boundaries for every published route are on the grade boundaries page. The single-subject course is A Level Maths past papers.

Questions people ask

Is Further Maths a separate A Level?
Yes. It has its own specification code, its own papers and its own grade. An A in Maths does not determine the Further Maths grade.
How many papers are there?
Three at AQA (7367), four at Edexcel (9FM0) and four at OCR A (H245). OCR MEI (H645) is a set of units, so the number of papers depends on the route.
Can I revise Further Maths with Maths papers?
The pure ideas overlap, but the papers do not. Use the Further Maths papers for the qualification you are entered for.
