A Level Maths questions by topic

A Level Maths questions by topic are for the afternoon when one area is costing marks. Boards publish by year. You revise by topic. This page shows which paper at which board is allowed to examine each block. It does not invent question numbers.

A list of "question 7 is integration" is only useful if someone has opened that paper. Until that check is done, the honest index is the one below: the specification's topics, and the paper that can set them.

AQA's specification is the one to read twice. Paper 2 is any Paper 1 content plus vectors and mechanics. Paper 3 is any Paper 1 content plus statistics. Treating Paper 1 as the only pure paper throws away marks on the other two.

A way to use the map

After a timed paper, write the topic next to each lost mark. If the marks are statistics, the next paper to open is Edexcel Paper 3, AQA Paper 3, OCR H240/02 or MEI H640/02 — the one you actually sit. If the marks are calculus, they can appear on more than one paper at every board, so a single "calculus paper" does not exist.

Then sit a mixed set: one pure question, one statistics question, one mechanics question, back to back. Recognising which topic a question belongs to is part of what a full paper tests. A Level Maths past papers are the timed half of the plan. The formula booklet tells you what you may quote. Grade boundaries tell you what the June 2026 total had to be.

Further Mathematics has its own content and will not be folded into this index. Where a method appears in both courses, the practice paper still has to be the qualification you sit.

Questions people ask

Are the questions listed one by one?
Not yet. A question-level index is only published after each question has been checked against the official paper. This page maps topics to the papers that can examine them.
Which boards are covered?
Edexcel 9MA0, AQA 7357, OCR H240 and OCR MEI H640. The topic can sit on a different paper at each board.
Should I revise by topic or by paper?
Both. Use a topic when one area is costing marks. Use a full timed paper when you need the mix and the clock. Topic drills are not a mock.
